LONDON AND BRISBANE
NASC, the UK’s leading trade body for the access and scaffolding industry, and the Scaffolding Association Australia (SAA) have announced a strategic partnership to strengthen international ties in the scaffolding industry. The agreement marks a significant milestone in the global scaffolding and access industry, paving the way for enhanced safety standards, shared knowledge and greater international collaboration.
Strengthening global ties
This MoU establishes a strong working relationship between the two organisations designed to create mutually beneficial opportunities across the sector. By joining forces, NASC and SAA will be better placed to lead the industry with purpose, strength and a shared vision of safety and efficiency.
Clive Dickin, CEO, NASC, said “This is another major milestone in the establishment of a global access and scaffolding sector working to uniformly high standards of safety and compliance. We want all scaffolders, regardless of where they work in the world, to benefit from the same protections and standards. And we want organisations commissioning and procuring scaffolding to recognise the value of these universally recognised standards and build them into their procurement processes.”
Robert Thiess, National Chair and Managing Director, SAA, said “We’re absolutely thrilled about this agreement and see it as a big step towards better and safer standards of scaffolding around the world. We look forward to working with our partners at NASC and elsewhere to enhance global standards.”
Key areas of collaboration
The partnership will focus on the following key areas:
- Sharing knowledge of training and educational best practice in the countries of UK and Australia
- Sharing knowledge of the testing processes of scaffold and access equipment to the improved safety of the users and industry
- Sharing and best practice on how to support the industry in the delivery of efficient and risk reduced scaffolding and access structures
- Mutual recognition of the membership standards and educational standards for each country
Collective expertise and resources
NASC, with 80 years of experience, brings unparalleled expertise in membership, education, training and bespoke consultancy services. SAA contributes valuable insights into the Australasian access and scaffolding market, advocacy, and its role in various national standards and industry codes of practice.
This MoU signifies a commitment to improving industry standards, safety and efficiency across borders. By leveraging their combined resources, expertise and networks, NASC and SAA are setting a new benchmark for international cooperation in scaffolding and access solutions. Both organisations already have in place an MoU with Scaffolding, Access & Rigging New Zealand (SARNZ), further strengthening the international bonds in our industry.
NASC and SAA are excited about this strategic collaboration and are confident that it will lead to high-impact advancements in the scaffolding and access industry. Both organisations also are looking forward to a future of greater innovation, enhanced safety and shared success.
