RTO Partner News – ATEC approved to assess NAI with ringlock systems

RTO Partners of the Scaffolding Association Australia, ATEC Training, have been approved by the Queensland regulator, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) to assess the National Assessment Instrument (NAI) for their Basic Scaffolding course with ringlock type scaffolding.

ATEC have been working with WHSQ providing advice and consultation following the recent safety alert issued after the tragic fall from scaffolding on a project in Queensland in July 2023.

This is the first time an RTO in Queensland has been granted this permission as traditionally, the NAI has always been assessed using the Kwikstage system.

ATEC’s training facility, located at the Construction Training Centre on Beaudesert Road, Salisbury, has been fitted out with a large scaffolding structure using the At-Pac ringlock system and has been used for additional training, and will now also be used to assess the NAI for ATEC’s Basic Scaffolding course.

This represents a great step forward for the scaffolding industry in Queensland as ringlock type scaffolding becomes more popular in the market.
