The Scaffolding Association Australia is proud to announce and celebrate this quarter’s inductees to our Honour Board – a recognition of outstanding service and dedication within our industry.
The Scaffolding Association Australia Honour Board recognises and celebrates the dedicated individuals who have made a lasting impact on our industry. This prestigious recognition is awarded in the following category:
Industry Service: For scaffolding professionals who have dedicated decades of their careers to the trade, with recognition beginning at 20 years of service and awarded in five-year increments up to 50 years.

This quarter, we recognise the following individuals:
Brad Leggett, Layher, 28 years – Brad began his scaffolding career in 1997 as a labourer in the Hunter Valley while studying Commerce at Newcastle University. After gaining advanced scaffolding qualifications, he worked on commercial and industrial projects across NSW. He moved into sales roles with Waco and Instant Access, including two years in New Zealand as National Business Manager. Since 2010, Brad has been with Layher Australia, serving as National Sales Manager and now Managing Director. He is actively involved in Australian Standards committees and industry bodies, and is committed to improving safety in the scaffolding industry through innovation and international collaboration.
Scott Fazen, Fazen Scaffolding, 23 years – Scott started on the tools as an 18 year old and throughout his remarkable career he has worked at every level of scaffolding, from labour to leading-hand to manager to supervisor and now business owner. Not only does he run the staff on a day-to-day basis within his own company, he is also a draftsman, safety advisor and trainer. Scott took scaffolding to the next level when he decided to become an accredited scaffold trainer, so new scaffolders have a chance of learning and understanding the correct way of scaffolding. Scott is renowned throughout the industry as the one that can always work it out.
Tim McGregor, Hutchinson Builders, 35 years– Tim McGregor began his scaffolding career with Australia Formwork Scaffolding in Sydney before moving to Queensland in 2004 to lead Hutchinson Builders’ newly established Scaffold department. Under his leadership, the department has grown significantly, now operating across two states with over 12,000 tonnes of material and supporting Hutchies’ projects from three major yards. Tim has driven safety, compliance, and innovation—establishing a dedicated plant and equipment division in 2014 and later becoming Team Leader of Construction Support, overseeing scaffold, plant, cranes, hoists, fleet, and procurement. He has also served as Vice President and Director of both the Scaffolding Association Australia and the Scaffolding Association Queensland, further demonstrating his commitment to advancing the industry.
Darren Davies, Aluminium Scaffolds, 33 years – Darren has worked for Aluminium Scaffolds for 33 years in this time he worked on various projects including Finger Wharf refurbishment, Garden Island also been involved in all SWMS implementation.
Michael Cotter, Aluminium Scaffolds, 45 years– Michael Cotter is the Owner & Director of Aluminium Scaffolds. During his time he implemented the design of both Aluminium Mobile & Modular System Aluminium scaffold and has been manufacturing both of these for over 40 years, and selling to many businesses including leading hire company Allcott hire.
Nigel Brockman, Aluminium Scaffolds, 36 years – Nigel has been a long-term employee of Aluminium Scaffolds. Almost from the beginning, Nigel has designed & worked on many major projects including the Sydney Opera house , Finger Wharf redevelopment and the 2000 Sydney Olympics stadiums. His dedication as a loyal employee helped in development of the Aluminium Scaffolds system. Nigel has built his knowledge & reputation throughout these years as a go to guy in difficult situations.
Each of these individuals has played a meaningful role in building the foundations of our industry – whether through leadership, mentorship, or boots-on-the-ground dedication. Their commitment continues to inspire the next generation of scaffolders and industry leaders.
