Industry Committee Applications Now Open
The Scaffolding Association Australia is pleased to open expressions of interest for our new national Industry Committees. These committees will play an important role in shaping future guidance, supporting national alignment, and strengthening the voice of the scaffolding profession across Australia.
This follows the announcement made at Scaff25, where we introduced the full committee structure designed to bring people from all parts of the industry together. We’re now inviting members to apply for the committees that best reflect their skills, experience and interests.

These committees will give members the opportunity to contribute to industry guidance, provide technical feedback, support national consultation, and help drive long-term progress for the scaffolding sector.
Committee Activation and Expectations
Please note that while expressions of interest are now open for all national committees, not every committee will commence activity immediately. The timing and workload of each committee will be shaped by SAA’s strategic priorities, emerging regulatory issues, and the resourcing required to support high-priority workstreams.
Some committees may begin meeting and contributing straight away, while others will be activated progressively over 2026. The level of involvement may also vary throughout the year, depending on the volume and urgency of matters within each committee’s remit.
Applicants should expect that:
- Workloads will fluctuate, with some periods requiring more active engagement than others
- Committees will be convened on a priority basis, aligned to national needs
- The activation sequence may shift as industry, regulatory, or safety issues evolve
- SAA will communicate clearly with appointed members regarding anticipated start dates and work expectations
We encourage applicants who are committed to contributing to the long-term development of the scaffolding industry, even where activity may be staggered or evolve over time.
Selection and Committee Size
Please note that not all applications will be successful. Appointments will be based on the skills, experience and perspectives required for each committee, as determined by the SAA Board. Committee sizes will be intentionally limited to ensure a balanced mix of expertise, industry representation and workable group dynamics.
How to Apply
Applications will be collected until 30 January 2026. Once this date has passed, SAA will review all submissions and advise applicants of the next steps, including anticipated commencement timelines for each committee.
If you’re passionate about lifting standards, improving safety, strengthening training pathways, and helping to build a more unified national approach to scaffolding, we’d welcome your application.
