Two New Categories Added to Australia’s Best Scaffolding Project Awards 2025

The Australia’s Best Scaffolding Project Awards celebrate the most outstanding achievements in scaffolding and access solutions across Australia. These awards recognise projects that demonstrate exceptional safety, innovation, technical expertise, and craftsmanship.

Open exclusively to SAA Scaffold Erector and Designer Members, the awards are an opportunity to gain recognition at a national level, with winners announced during the SAA’s 2025 Conference, Scaff25.

This year, we are excited to announce two new categories to reflect the growing importance of powered access solutions in our industry:

  • Excellence in Mast Climber Use

  • Excellence in Swing Stage Use

These new categories join an already diverse awards program, ensuring that projects using advanced access technologies are recognised alongside the best in traditional scaffolding.

2025 Award Categories

  • Major Commercial Scaffolding Project of the Year
For large-scale commercial projects showcasing innovation, technical complexity, and exceptional execution.

  • Industrial Scaffolding Project of the Year
For projects in industrial environments such as mining, oil & gas, power generation, or manufacturing.

  • Civil Scaffolding Project of the Year
For scaffolding in civil infrastructure projects such as bridges, tunnels, or roads.

  • Innovation in Scaffolding
For unique or complex scaffolding solutions that push the boundaries of design, technology, or height.

  • Best Small-Scale Scaffolding Project
For outstanding projects on smaller sites — residential or small commercial — demonstrating efficiency and quality workmanship.

  • Best Aluminium Scaffolding Project
Recognising excellence in the design, installation, and application of aluminium scaffolding.

  • Best Scaffolding Design
Celebrating exceptional scaffolding design, including unique configurations, custom engineering, and design innovation.

  • Excellence in Mast Climber Use (New category)
Recognising innovative, safe, and efficient application of mast climbing work platforms in construction or industrial settings.

  • Excellence in Swing Stage Use (New Category)
Recognising outstanding application of swing stage (suspended scaffold) systems, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and technical expertise.

The addition of mast climbers and swing stages reflects the growing diversity of access solutions in Australia’s construction and maintenance sectors. These systems require specialised installation expertise, safety measures, and technical capability — and these awards will recognise the companies leading the way.
