Description of Project
In September 2022, GM Scaffolding was commissioned to design, install and certify a temporary scaffold bridge and ramps over Park St in the Sydney CBD, connecting the two sides of Hyde Park. The purpose of the bridge was to provide access for athletes and news motorbikes over the road as a part of the Sydney Marathon route.
Utilising Proscaf componentry, including the ProPanel cladding system and public access guard railing components, GM was able to successfully deliver the project and meet all criteria to ensure the client’s vision was achieved.
The ramps were built first, and during a night shift, the bridge was built and craned into position in two sections. The total bridge span was just under 20mL.
Then, the ramps and bridge were finished with a slip-rated, gap-free covering.
The client was very impressed with the Proscaf material and the installation, and the event went smoothly.
