Celebrating Excellence: Quarter's Honour Board Recipients

The Scaffolding Association Australia is proud to announce and celebrate this quarter’s inductees to our Honour Board – a recognition of outstanding service and dedication within our industry.

The Scaffolding Association Australia Honour Board recognises and celebrates the dedicated individuals who have made a lasting impact on our industry. This prestigious recognition is awarded in the following category:

  • Industry Service: For scaffolding professionals who have dedicated decades of their careers to the trade, with recognition beginning at 20 years of service and awarded in five-year increments up to 50 years.

If you or someone you know deserves to be recognised, please fill in the form on this page to nominate them for the Scaffolding Association Australia Honour Board.

This quarter, we recognise the following individuals:

  • Christopher Maddick, 20 years – With more than 20 years of dedicated service in the residential scaffolding sector, Christopher Maddick has made a significant and lasting contribution to the industry through his commitment to safety, innovation and leadership. Beginning his career on the tools, Chris quickly established himself as a highly respected professional, playing a key role in improving safety practices and developing more efficient scaffold systems across residential construction sites. His forward-thinking approach and hands-on leadership have helped reduce risk, improve productivity and mentor many young scaffolders entering the trade. Chris’s long-standing commitment to Buildsafe has also been central to the company’s growth over the past two decades, supporting its evolution from a small scaffolding provider to a nationally recognised leader in height safety solutions. His industry knowledge, dedication and drive for continuous improvement have helped shape Buildsafe’s strong reputation across Australia.

  • Jason Crockett, 35 years – Jason began his scaffolding career in 1989 in Coffs Harbour after moving to Australia from New Zealand at the age of 17. A year later he relocated to the Sunshine Coast, where he began leading scaffolding crews for several companies before establishing his first scaffolding business with his wife in Mount Isa in 1997. Since then, Jason has successfully operated scaffold businesses in both Mount Isa and on the Sunshine Coast. Throughout his career he has employed and mentored many young people entering the industry, taking particular pride in seeing those with little or no experience develop their skills, gain their qualifications and progress into leadership roles themselves. Although Jason is someone who prefers to stay out of the spotlight, his contribution to the industry and his community has been significant, not only through mentoring the next generation of scaffolders but also through the support his business, Crockett Industries, provides to local sporting teams and community events in Mount Isa.

Christopher Maddick and Jason Crockett have each made significant and lasting contributions to the scaffolding industry in Australia through decades of dedication, leadership and commitment to supporting others within the trade. Both have built their careers from the ground up, gaining hands-on experience before moving into positions where they have been able to influence safety standards, mentor the next generation of scaffolders and contribute to the growth of the businesses and communities around them.

Their careers reflect the values that underpin the scaffolding industry – hard work, practical expertise, a strong focus on safety and a willingness to support those coming through the ranks.

Through their leadership, mentoring and ongoing involvement in the industry, Christopher and Jason have helped shape the careers of many scaffolders and strengthened the reputation of the profession across Australia.

Their recognition on the Scaffolding Association Australia Honour Board acknowledges not only their individual achievements, but also the broader impact they have had on the industry and the people within it.
