Ladies and gentlemen, members of the Scaffolding Association Australia, guests, and fellow industry professionals, for those that do not know me, my name is Robert Thiess. It is with great pleasure and honour that I stand before you today as the Managing Director of the Scaffolding Association Australia. This inaugural meeting marks a significant milestone in our organization’s journey, and I am filled with enthusiasm and optimism for the future of our industry.

First and foremost, I would like to extend my gratitude to each and every one of you for your presence here today. Your commitment and dedication to the scaffolding industry have been instrumental in shaping our association and driving its growth. Together, we have the power to revolutionize the way scaffolding is perceived and utilized in Australia. We have a number of people, most notably Erryn O’Brien, that have worked tirelessly in the background creating content and setting in place all the things necessary to run an organisation such as this.

The establishment of the Scaffolding Association Australia was born out of a shared vision – a vision to foster a culture of excellence, safety, and innovation in our industry. To move the industry forward nationally not just in Queensland, as a cohesive group of likeminded companies. As professionals in scaffolding, we understand the vital role we play in ensuring the safety of workers, the success of construction projects, and the overall growth of our nation.

Our association stands as a source of knowledge, collaboration, and advocacy. Through this platform, we will promote the highest standards of scaffolding practices, empower our members with valuable resources, and advocate for the advancement of our industry on both regional and national levels.

Safety is a core value that will remain at the forefront of our efforts. The Scaffolding Association Australia will tirelessly work towards creating a safety-centric culture within the scaffolding community. We aim to promote and enforce industry best practices, offer training and certification programs in the future, and actively engage with relevant stakeholders to address safety concerns and challenges head-on.

Innovation is another key aspect that we cannot overlook. Technology and advancements in engineering have the potential to revolutionize our industry, and we must be at the forefront of embracing these changes. By fostering an environment that encourages innovation, research, and development, we will elevate the standards of scaffolding, making it more efficient, sustainable, and adaptable to the evolving needs of our clients and projects.

Moreover, our association will be a unifying force within the scaffolding industry. We will collaborate with government bodies, industry associations, and educational institutions to build strong relationships and promote dialogue. By actively engaging in partnerships, we can influence policy decisions, drive industry-wide initiatives, and contribute to the overall growth and development of the construction sector.

As the Managing Director, I assure you that I am committed to leading the Scaffolding Association Australia with utmost dedication, transparency, and integrity. I encourage each and every one of you to actively participate, contribute your expertise, and make your voices heard. Together, we can shape the future of scaffolding in Australia and set new benchmarks of excellence.

In conclusion, let us embrace this inaugural meeting as a stepping stone towards a brighter future for the scaffolding industry in Australia. As we embark on this journey, I urge you to remain passionate, persistent, and unwavering in our pursuit of excellence. Together, we will make a lasting impact on the industry, ensuring the safety of workers, enhancing productivity, and shaping a sustainable future for generations to come.

Thank you all, and let us forge ahead, united and determined!
