Industry Committees Update – Applications Now Closed

The Scaffolding Association Australia recently invited members from across the country to apply to join our new Industry Committees, an important initiative designed to bring greater industry involvement into the work of the Association.

We are pleased to advise that applications have now closed and the SAA Board is currently reviewing all submissions. We received strong interest from across the industry, reflecting the willingness of our members to contribute their experience and help shape the future of scaffolding in Australia.

These committees will play a key role in ensuring the Association remains closely connected to the challenges and opportunities faced by our industry. By bringing together people with practical experience from across different sectors, the committees will provide valuable input into SAA initiatives, policy development and technical resources.

As previously announced, the committees will cover a range of industry areas, including commercial scaffolding, industrial scaffolding, residential scaffolding, training, safety, aluminium systems, mast climbers and swing stages, along with a Technical and Engineering Committee.

To align with the upcoming release of the SAA Best Practice Guidelines, the Technical and Engineering Committee will be the first committee formally established. This group will begin work on the development of the SAA Technical Guidance Documents, which will support the guidelines and provide further practical clarity for industry.

These technical documents will address specific scaffolding and access topics in greater detail and are intended to become a valuable reference for contractors, designers, engineers and principal contractors working across Australia.

The formation of these committees represents another important step in strengthening the role of the Association as the national voice for the scaffolding industry. By drawing on the knowledge and experience of industry professionals, SAA aims to ensure that the work we produce continues to be practical, relevant and developed by the industry, for the industry.

We thank all members who took the time to submit an application and look forward to the committees commencing their work in 2026.
