ConferenceSARNZTradeshow

Our General Manager, Erryn O’Brien and Board Member, Simon Boyes were thrilled to be invited to attend the 2023 SARNZ – Scaffolding, Access & Rigging New Zealand Conference & Tradeshow in September 2023.

What an impressive event this is! Amazing work from CEO, Tina Wieczorek and her team on putting this together.

Day 1

Day 1 began with keynote speaker, Eloise Blackwell, NZ Rugby Union player who described the highs and lows of her career and how a successful mindset helps to overcome challenges, really inspiring stuff!

Next followed a panel discussion on the state of the Scaffolding, Access and Rigging industries and what the current most critical issues are that we’re facing in our industry; funnily enough, very similar to the issues we are facing in Australia including a skills shortage, rising costs and inflationary pressure.

It was really interesting to hear how SARNZ are helping and educating their members on sustainability with some goals in the constriction industry that we should all be working towards.

Layher NZ presented the new Layher, Inc. product, Twixbeam, which is a very impressive product with many time and productivity saving applications, make sure you check this one out.

And finally, it was wonderful to catch up with some of our shared partners today, Brian Webb from Avontus SoftwareScaffM8 and we also got to see our friends from BSL, Noel Keenan and fantastic to meet Terry Jenkins.

Day 2

Day 2 began with a great presentation from SafeSmart Access NZ on their company and capabilities and it was great to meet Wilbert Person, National Sales Manager.

We heard a panel discussion on digital transformation and cybersecurity, all info business owners need to know these days and great to hear from our partners, Keith Archer from ScaffM8 the one source of truth for your scaffolding company.

Really powerful and moving presentations from Jehan Casinader and Dave Letele “Buttabean” on mental health and the stories we tell ourselves and the amazing work being done by The BBM Program, please check out BBM and support this amazing organisation.

Terry Jenkins showed us what he’s been working on with SARNZ, excellent training videos on scaffolding around powerlines and CEO, Tina Wieczorek updated us on the past 12 months projects and highlights at SARNZ.

It was also great to meet Rodney Grant from the EWPANZ, Hire and Forklift associations in New Zealand and we look forward to connecting with his Australian counterpart, James Oxenford from the EWP Association.

Thank you to the Board of SARNZ and Tina, CEO, for having us along to this amazing event for the scaffolding industry. We look forward to furthering our bonds as scaffolding industry associations in both of our countries.
